MR. ALAN HUIZENGA, P.E.
PRESIDENT
Alan has over twenty five years of experience in the civil and environmental engineering fields. His experience includes design engineering, permitting, project management, residuals management and site-planning.
From 1984 to 1994, Alan was first a design engineer, and then operations manager, for a branch office of a consulting engineering company. Throughout this period, he was responsible for engineering designs, studies and permitting related to civil and environmental projects including water supply, wastewater treatment, storm water, solid waste management, transportation engineering, hazardous waste management and remediation, environmental site assessments, and environmental audits. As a municipal engineer in New Jersey, Alan was in charge of both the design and review of projects related to subdivision and site planning.
Alan worked for Green Mountain Engineering, Inc. from 1994 to 2000 as a project engineer and a project manager. From 2000 to the 2003 he was employed as Vice-President of a Vermont engineering firm in a similar capacity. He returned as Vice-President of GME in 2003, as Managing Partner and Project Team Leader. MR. PETER T. POCHOP, A.S.
PROJECT ENGINEER
Pete has over twenty-three years of experience in civil and environmental engineering including project management, site design, process design, architectural design, specification writing, preparation of working drawings, preparation of operation and maintenance manuals, survey, site layout, construction inspection, preparation of technical exhibits, project videotaping, installation of observation wells, construction cost estimating, shop drawing submittal review, and AutoCAD/hand generation of working drawings.
From April 1983 to July 2004, Pete was a highly dedicated and motivated member of the Vermont Air National Guard 158th Civil Engineering Squadron as an Environmental Support Technician, Water and Wastewater Maintenance Technician and Utilities Section Superintendent, achieving Senior NCO of the Year for 2002. As a Master Sgt., he has deployed with his squadron to Jamaica, Panama, Macedonia, Africa, Israel and the Azores, and assisted with planning, designing and constructing humanitarian projects in these foreign countries. JAMIE L. SIMPSON, E.I.
PROJECT ENGINEER
Jamie joined the GME staff in 2009. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering, as well as holding an Associates’ Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Vermont Technical College. His experience includes civil and environmental design of water and wastewater systems, roadways and structures.
Prior to joining GME, Jamie worked summers for a consulting firm in Vermont developing his technical skills which include surveying, soil and material testing, estimating, AutoCAD design, and groundwater remediation.
Jamie is a current Development Review Board member in the Town of Salisbury. He is preparing for the Professional Engineering Examination in 2013. Jamie can be contacted at jsimpson@gmeinc.biz.
TYLER M. GINGRAS, E.I.
PROJECT ENGINEER
Tyler joined the GME staff in 2009. He is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a Bachelors’ Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His professional experience includes site grading, drainage study, erosion control, quantity and cost estimates, site plans, roadway, utilities, water and sewer design, parking lots, Traffic Impact Analysis studies, Stormwater Management Plans and Transportation Access Permits.
Prior to joining GME, Tyler worked for engineering firms in Colorado developing his technical skills which include structural design and drafting, both commercial and residential, Land Development Design, and general and forensic structural inspections. He is preparing for the Professional Engineering Examination in 2013.

BRAD M. WASHBURN, E.I.
PROJECT ENGINEER
Brad joined the GME staff in 2011. He has over twelve years of experience in civil and environmental engineering including project management, residential and commercial site design including finish grading, stormwater design and permitting, municipal storm sewer, municipal water service, municipal sewer, erosion and sediment control plans; Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, roadway re-construction and rehabilitation projects; stream bank restoration; sand and gravel extraction pits and rock quarries; Onsite Resident Engineering; AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting, and topographic surveys.

RYAN H. WELLS, A.S.
TECHNICIAN
Ryan joined the GME staff in 2004. He is a graduate of Vermont Technical College with an Associates’ Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering Technology. His experience includes environmental design of residential land development projects, wastewater disposal systems, and commercial and community water supply systems. His technical skills include water and septic design, structural design, surveying, soil and material testing, asphalt design and testing and roadway design.
